Hometown

HOMETOWN

Original oil painting on linen — 95 × 130 cm

Hometown is about the strange way a place can stay with you, even long after you’ve changed.

I wanted to paint that feeling rather than a specific view — the fragments of a place you know so well that you almost stop noticing them. The light, the colours, the familiar shapes. Things that might mean nothing to someone else, but somehow carry an entire history for you.

For me, this painting became less about where home is and more about what we carry with us from the places that shaped us.
