Irish Isles

IRISH ISLES

Original oil painting on linen — 130 × 200 cm

Irish Isles was inspired by the Irish landscape — the deep greens, open water and the particular sense of calm I always find there.

Ireland has a personal connection to me, and with this painting I wanted to capture a feeling rather than a specific place. The stillness of looking out across the water, the landscape disappearing into the distance, and that moment when everything around you seems to slow down.

At 130 × 200 cm, it was created to have a real presence in a room. From a distance, the landscape feels quiet. Up close, the layers, movement and texture of the oil begin to reveal themselves.
